Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into XDefiant lately, trying to figure out what’s really working in the current meta. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
My Starting Point
First, I just jumped in, playing casually, trying out different factions and weapons. I got my butt kicked. A lot. I mean, I’m not a pro gamer or anything, but I like to think I’m decent. It was clear pretty quickly that I needed to change something if I wanted to do more than just be cannon fodder.
Experimentation Time
So, I started paying more attention to what was actually killing me. What guns were people using? What abilities seemed to be crushing me? I jotted it all down, very messy like.
- ACR 6.8: This thing felt like it had laser accuracy and hit like a truck. Every other death seemed to be from this.
- MP7: So many people were running around with this SMG, melting me up close.
- Cleaners (Faction): Those fire abilities were seriously annoying, flushing me out of cover and burning me down.
- Echelon (Faction): The stealth abilities were driving me nuts, getting flanked left and right.
Putting it into Practice
I figured I’d try using what I was seeing. I started with the ACR 6.8. Took a bit of getting used to, but man, once I got the recoil down, it was a game-changer. My kill/death ratio started to look a little less embarrassing,very quickly.
Then, I experimented with the Cleaners faction. I started learning how to use the fire abilities effectively, zoning people out, and getting some easy kills. It felt good to be the one causing the chaos for a change!
I also tried the MP7. It’s great for run-and-gun, but I realized I’m not the best at that playstyle. I prefer to hold angles and play a bit more strategically. So, I switched back to the ACR and focused on improving my positioning.
I tried the Echelon faction, It was very difficult at first, but with more practice the stealth was usefull, though the fire build was more reliable for my style.
My Current Go-To Loadout
After all that experimenting, this is what I’m rocking with most of the time:
- Faction: Cleaners (sometimes Echelon, depends on the map and my mood)
- Primary Weapon: ACR 6.8
- Secondary Weapon: Whatever I feel like, usually a pistol for quick switching
- Device: Incendiary Grenade (great for area denial)
Still Learning
I’m still figuring things out, testing to see what I get killed by, and that the meta is always changing.
But right now, this setup is working pretty well for me. I’m actually winning some gunfights and having a lot more fun! It’s all about adapting, trying new things, and seeing what works best for your own playstyle.
