Today, I wanna talk about my experience with my 2005 Kawasaki Z750. This bike, man, it’s been a journey.

I picked up this bad boy a while back, and let me tell you, it was love at first sight. It’s got that classic naked bike look, but with a bit of an edge. The 748cc engine? That thing’s a beast. It’s a four-stroke, inline-four cylinder engine, liquid-cooled, DOHC, with 16 valves. Yeah, it’s a mouthful, but what it means is power, and plenty of it.
First thing I did was take it out for a spin. Getting it up to speed, that was an experience. I’ve heard people say this thing can hit over 150 mph, and I believe it. I haven’t pushed it that far myself, but I’ve gotten it up to 130 mph, and it felt like it had plenty more to give. The acceleration is insane, in first gear, you can hit 65 mph like it’s nothing.
Now, it’s not all about speed. This bike is surprisingly comfortable for cruising. You can pop it into 6th gear, and it’ll pull from around 50 mph without any fuss. The torque is there, right when you need it, especially from 4000 rpm up. The torque curve is super flat until nearly the redline at 11,000 rpm. Peak torque is about 55 ft-lb at 8,000 rpm. It’s smooth, it’s responsive, it’s everything you want in a bike like this.
- Engine: We’re talking 748cc of pure, unadulterated power. Four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder.
- Power: I’ve heard numbers thrown around like 100 bhp at 11,000 rpm. All I know is, it’s got more than enough for me.
- Speed: The top speed is supposedly around 145 mph. I’ve personally seen 130 mph, and it was still pulling strong.
- Handling: It handles like a dream. Whether you’re gunning it on the highway or just cruising around town, it’s smooth and responsive.
Fuel Economy
Fuel economy? Not bad, actually. I’ve been averaging around 46 mpg without even trying. If you’re gentle on the throttle, you can probably squeeze out even more. I once filled up the tank and just cruised around at a steady pace, and I was surprised at how far I got on a single tank.
This bike, it’s not just a machine, it’s an experience. It’s the feeling of the wind rushing past you, the roar of the engine, the connection you feel with the road. It’s something special, and I’m glad I get to share it with you all. It’s been a wild ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
